Don't: Despite a strong start, Don't has looked a bit weaker as time went on. A harsh week two drop cause me to hold off on an upgrade, and just as I was ready to make that move, it dropped to a new low. It could be a fluke (ABC's scheduling has not been consistent), but a 0.5 (with a 0.4 in the second half!) is not good this early into its run. ABC game shows tend to have decent dropoffs in August and September, and I don't know what that's going to look like for Don't if this is where it's at now. It's not being upgraded this week, and remains LEANING RENEWAL.
United We Fall: Despite a solid hold in week two, United We Fall is still a massive renewal underdog. Ratings-wise, a renewal wouldn't be a terrible choice, but other factors continue to leave me certain that it's simply not coming back. As stated last week, the Jane Curtin series was originally ordered a year ago, and ABC easily could've held it for the fall with the uncertainty surrounding filming in the age of COVID. However, they simply dumped it in the middle of summer and didn't extend its contracts. No ratings overperformance can save that.
Burden of Truth: Despite low ratings throughout the season, Burden of Truth is on the upswing this week. A Canadian import, the show was recently renewed by Canadian network CBC for a fourth season. A pickup on CW wasn't announced alongside that, but it seems like a mere formality. It has to be very cheap for CW to acquire and, as evidenced by their summer and fall 2020 lineups, they will acquire anything. It's a CERTAIN RENEWAL.
