Preliminary Analysis: After a promising 1.3 debut after 'The Masked Singer' in late May, Fox's 'Ultimate Tag' (0.3) ended its ten-episode run in truly ghastly fashion. The competition series matched the ugly low-point it had posted the past two weeks and fell behind its 'MasterChef' repeat lead-in (0.4) once again. Although its steady stream of ratings in the 0.5-0.6 range was quite solid, this sour final impression definitely jeopardizes the program's chances of returning for a second season.
In more encouraging news, ABC's 'United We Fall' (0.5) held even in week three and tied for the night's top broadcast. Although chances of renewal are slim, 'Fall' seems to be doing quite well for the time being. But there was uglier news later in the night as 'Agents of SHIELD' (0.2) lost a tenth and fell back down to its rotten series low at 10pm. 'SHIELD' will air its two-hour series finale in two weeks on August 12th. Sandwiched in-between the two originals were repeats of 'The Goldbergs' (0.4), 'The Conners' (0.3), and 'American Housewife' (0.3).
CBS's 'Tough as Nails' (0.5) got a precious tenth back after two weeks of posting 0.4s. It led into encores of a 'Price Is Right' special (0.4) and 'SEAL Team' (0.3). NBC had 0.4s across the board for its 'One Chicago' repeat trio. And the CW's 'Bulletproof' (0.1) gained a tenth after last week's dreadful 0.0. It led out of a repeat of 'The 100' (0.1).

Finals Update: The season finale of Fox's 'Ultimate Tag' (+0.1) and 'Agents of SHIELD' (+0.1) adjusted up. This puts 'Ultimate Tag a tenth above its last episode and 'SHIELD' steady with its previous outing.
