Roughly a month after the release of its second season, Hulu has renewed comedy-drama series Ramy for a third season. Ramy first debuted on the Disney-owned streaming service on April 19, 2019 with a ten-episode inaugural season. It came back thirteen months later for a ten-episode second season on May 29, 2020. The program is loosely based on the life and experiences of comedian Ramy Youssef, a Muslim-American trying to juggle faith and desires in his New Jersey hometown. Mohammed Amer, Hiam Abbass, Dave Merheje, Amr Waked, May Calamawy, and Laith Nakli make up the rest of the main cast. In the comedy's second season, Mahershala Ali had a recurring role as Ramy's sheikh. Although it is currently unknown exactly when Ramy will return, fans can be reassured that it will be around for more episodes. Earlier in the year, Youssef won a Golden Globe for "Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy" during the January 2020 ceremony.
