For the first time since the week of June 22, all 12 of FOX News’ hours were higher-rated than those on CNN and MSNBC. This was not led by any show in particular. Tucker Carlson Tonight did get the two two spots, but Wednesday’s Ingraham Angle did better than Monday’s Tucker Carlson Tonight in all key demos. Without a Donald Trump interview, Thursday’s edition of Hannity lagged behind those of Tuesday and Wednesday. Better news came for The Ingraham Angle, which at times finished behind certain hours on CNN and MSNBC in the past few weeks. This week, its Wednesday edition finished above other editions of Tucker Carlson Tonight and Hannity.
On CNN, Cuomo Prime Time came out on top, notching three of CNN’s top four hours. While the Thursday edition was lower in A25-54 and A18-49, it was the highest-rated Cuomo Prime Time (and in CNN in general) in A18-34 and Total Viewers. CNN Global Town Hall, airing weekly at 8pm on Thursdays, continues to struggle in the key A25-54 demo.
Rachel Maddow Show continues to be MSNBC’s bright spot, with Last Word and All In continuing to be the lowest-rated shows on prime time cable news. Monday’s edition of Last Word finished outside of the top 50 in A18-49, and therefore not all demos were released for it on that day. In general, All In looked a bit stronger this week, managing to finish above Last Word in A25-54 twice.
MSNBC’s new 7pm show, The ReidOut, had Mary Trump on as a guest on Wednesday. The Joy Reid-hosted show hit a series high that day, and hit yet another one on Thursday. Below is a table of its ratings this week, organized in chronological order by day of the week. The numbers indicate it continuing to grow an audience, at time holding its own with the show that follows it, All In with Chris Hayes.
