'The Good Doctor' Given Full Season Order by ABC

ABC's newest hit will be sticking around for at least nine episodes more than its initial order. ABC announced today that The Good Doctor, their new hit medical drama series starring Freddie Highmore, will be receiving a full season order. The Good Doctor's first season will now consist of 18 episodes. This order comes after just two (very impressive) airings of the Good Doctor, which thus far have averaged a 2.2. This really comes as no surprise, as the show is going on its Dancing With the Stars lead-in by a good margin and it handily beats its competition, besting fellow newbie the Brave by more than a point in their latest match-up. This is the second new series to get a full season order, after Young Sheldon last week.
