Dancing With the Stars Season 25 Episode 2 Review

It's ballroom week on Dancing With the Stars! It's a big night for the dancers, as they've had to prepare two dances instead of the usual one, so I'm excited to see how they all deal with it.

Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas -
I thought this was good, but I definitely think it was a step down from last week's dance. There was just something missing this week that was there last week. It wasn't as fun to watch, and it was kinda forgettable. In a week, all I'll be able to remember about it will likely be the butterfly aspect of it.
My Score: 7

Derek Fisher and Sharna Burgess -
I feel the same way about Derek this week as I did last week. This was a decent, but uninspiring, dance. It was pretty fun, but I didn't love it and the technique was lacking.
My Score: 6

Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson -
What is going on with Malcolm Frankie? After a surprisingly good dance on the premiere, this was even better. I wasn't expecting him to even be remotely good, so this is a welcome surprise. I think he could be one of the season's best dancers, and he's definitely one to watch out for.
My Score: 8

Nick Lachey and Peta Murgatroyd -
This was another okay dance from Nick. Once again, his wife was clearly better, but he was fine. I really didn't see too much improvement here though, and it was a little forgettable in comparison with the rest of these dances.
My Score: 6

Vanessa Lachey and Maks Chmerkovskiy -
I really enjoyed this dance, and it was an improvement over her first dance. I was really impressed with her, because while I enjoyed her first dance, I didn't love it. This one I did love. Also, Vanessa- 2, Nick-0
My Score: 8

Drew Scott and Emma Slater -
This was a really big improvement over last week's messy first dance. I thought he improved on pretty much all fronts, and though he's still a fixer-upper, he's getting there.
My Score: 7

Terrell Owens and Cheryl Burke -
This was better than last week's dance, but I'm still not impressed. I rarely say this, but I agree with Len that this was a little too raunchy. I was underwhelmed, but it was still better than last week's dance.
My Score: 6

Victoria Arlen and Val Chmerkovskiy -
I loved this so much. Obviously, it was not as joyful and peppy as last week, since that wouldn't fit with the dance, but it was fantastic. This was a big improvement on her first dance, which I also really enjoyed. This was just so good.
My Score: 9

Sasha Pieterse and Gleb Savchenko -
This was a big improvement over Sasha's pretty forgettable first dance. This wasn't forgettable at all, and I really did enjoy it. I think this is the beginning of something really great if she can keep this up.
My Score: 8

Barbara Corcoran and Keo Motsepe -
This was so much better. While her last dance was entertaining, she didn't really show any dancing skills. It wasn't very good. But this was really an improvement. Obviously it wasn't the dance of the night, but there was a lot of improvement here and it makes me happy.
My Score: 6

Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev -
This was really good. It was an improvement from last week's dance, which I really liked as well. It showed her graceful and elegant side, and I'm starting to think she'll be a really great dancer this season.
My Score: 7

Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold -
Obviously, Jordan can dance very well. He's easily one of the best dancers there. And this was very good. There wasn't a lot of improvement there, but it was very good and I'm excited to see what else he's got. And again: Could this be Lindsay's year? Based on these first few weeks, it's very likely.
My Score: 8

Debbie Gibson and Alan Bersten -
This was a good dance. It was a lot of fun to watch, and it was definitely an improvement on last week's dance. It was far from the best dance, but I did really like it. I'm hoping for more improvement  from Debbie next week.
My Score: 7

Superlatives:
Worst of the Night: Terrell & Cheryl
(Dis)Honorable Mention: Barbara & Keo

Dancer of the Night: Victoria & Val
Honorable Mention: Vanessa & Maks

Rankings for the Week:
1- Victoria & Val
2- Vanessa & Maks
3- Jordan & Lindsay
4- Frankie & Witney
5- Sasha & Gleb
6- Lindsey & Mark
7- Nikki & Artem
8- Debbie & Alan
9- Drew & Emma
10- Nick & Peta
11- Derek & Sharna
12- Barbara & Keo
13- Terrell & Cheryl

Elimination-
Terrell & Cheryl and Barbara & Keo are the Bottom Two, and Terrell & Cheryl get out of the Bottom Two alive. Barbara & Keo are unsurprisingly sent home.

Wrap-Up-
This was another pretty good episode, and I was really impressed by some dances. I wish Barbara would have stayed, as I got a kick out of her, but I can't really complain about her elimination.

My Score: 8.5/10
My Grade: B+
