TV Ratings 5/25/17: Red Nose Day Slightly Up, Beat Shazam Wins Night, Love Connection Makes a Connection with Viewers (UPDATED)

Thursday night was the first night of Summer for broadcast TV. It definitely showed in the ratings, with the #1 series at a 1.2. That program would be Fox's Beat Shazam, which has a strong start that translated into a win for Fox for the night. Also having a strong start was Love Connection, which was just a tenth lower than Beat Shazam and tied for #2. NBC had their annual Red Nose Day special, which was up a tenth year-to-year. They also aired two Red Nose Day-related programs: Celebrity Ninja Warrior and Running Wild. Both were solid improvements on last year's time slot occupants. ABC and the CW were both in repeat mode, as was CBS for most of the night. CBS aired one original program, The Amazing Race, which sank to an ugly new low.
