Hunter's FOX Schedule PREDICTION

FOX will be releasing their fall schedule tomorrow (Monday) around 5:00 or 5:30 in the morning Pacific Time, 8:00 or 8:30 Eastern Time. Now that most things are known (though the fates of Scream Queens, 24 Legacy, Shots Fired, and pilots Amy's Brother, Linda from HR, Thin Ice, Type A, Behind Enemy Lines, and Controversy remain unknown as of my writing of this), I will predict what FOX's schedule will look like tomorrow.

Sunday
7:30 Bob's Burgers
8:00 The Simpsons
8:30 Ghosted (new)
9:00 Family Guy
9:30 The Last Man on Earth

Monday
8:00 Gotham
9:00 Lucifer

Tuesday
8:00 Brooklyn Nine-Nine
8:30 LA to Vegas (new)
9:00 Lethal Weapon (new day and time)

Wednesday
8:00 The Resident (new)
9:00 Empire

Thursday
8:00 The X-Files (new day)
9:00 The Gifted (new)

Friday
8:00 Hell's Kitchen
9:00 The Exorcist

On Sunday, Monday, and Friday stability is emphasized. Monday and Friday look exactly like last fall, while Sunday has new comedy Ghosted instead of the now canceled comedies that aired there this season, Son of Zorn and Making History. Ghosted is selected for this timeslot because it would probably fit best with the animated comedies.

Tuesday and Wednesday also do not lack stability, with Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Empire returning to the timeslots that they have aired in this season. Since Empire is the network's biggest hit, a new drama will probably air before it. The Resident is a better fit than The Gifted, so I expect it there. This sends Lethal Weapon to another night, and I am selecting Tuesdays because of the plan I am predicting for Thursdays. Filling the 8:30 half-hour on Tuesday, I believe that new comedy LA to Vegas will be selected, which would make this fall match the last in the number of new shows on the fall schedule.

In April, FOX ordered 10 more episodes of The X-Files. The Deadline report in this reported that filming would begin in the summer, meaning that the series would be able to have a fall launch, and with the Winter Olympics causing a potential winter run for the series to be broken up, I expect a fall launch. I think that this launch will be on Thursdays, assisting the problematic night. The sci-fi drama would then lead-into Marvel drama The Gifted.

For mid-season, I expect sci-fi dramedy The Orville to replace The X-Files, and the second season of Star air on Wednesdays like the first did. The Exorcist will probably be replaced by either a reality series, such as MasterChef Junior or My Kitchen Rules, or one of 24 Legacy or Shots Fired if they are renewed. New Girl may also make a brief appearance on the night for its final 8 episodes if no spot opens up during the week. I think that the second season of The Mick will be given a lead-in upgrade and air on Sundays at 9:30. Where The Last Man on Earth goes depends on other factors, though it may go to 7:30, pushing Bob's Burgers to 7:00.
