Roseanne spin-off The Conners will return for a fourth season on ABC in the 2021-22 TV season. The series was the #1 broadcast comedy series in its second season, but its third season saw a large 40% decline that saw it drop to #5 among ABC's scripted series and #8 among all broadcast comedies as it moved from the 8 PM slot on Tuesdays to the 9 PM slot on Wednesdays. Despite a massive slide in live+same-day viewers, delayed viewing for the show remained strong, enough for ABC be able to make a deal with its production company to keep it on their lineup. John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf and Lecy Goranson star as members of the titular family, who first returned to television in 2018 on the hit Roseanne revival before that series was canceled due to controversial remarks by star Roseanne Barr.
