Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years
Viacom essentially timed the rebranding to Paramount Plus around SpongeBob, launching with a new feature film as well as a prequel series. When it comes to Parrot Analytics’ data, saying Kemp Koral is a disappointment is an understatement. For reference, SpongeBob SquarePants is at a 65.1 multiplier. Other shows with higher multipliers than Kamp Koral include The Fairly OddParents (8.3), Rugrats (8.2), and iCarly (11.8), all former Nickelodeon shows that are being revived on Paramount Plus.

I’m being lenient on the show for now as there is not much precedent for a launch on Paramount Plus. Additionally, its Nickelodeon premiere was strong and it remains to be seen how the rest of the episodes will fare on the cable network. When it comes down to it, one of Kamp Koral’s main purposes was simply to sell toys. If that’s happening, Viacom is likely content, even though the show remains meme-less.

No Activity
No Activity returned for another season and did not see any increase in demand from earlier this year. The show moved to animated form this season, possibly as a cost-saving measure. At a certain point, it has to be impossible to justify yet another renewal. A 0.06 multiplier may or may not be that point, but I’m betting it is.
