Black-ish Renewed by ABC for Eight & Final Season

Long-running comedy Blackish will add another season to its name before it ends for good, securing an order for an eighth and final season today. It's the second-longest-running comedy on ABC, and will be the second-most senior live-action comedy on all of television next season now that Mom and Last Man Standing have both ended. The series is in the middle of ABC's ratings pack, rating as the #8 of 15 scripted series on the network. It's averged a 0.49 in the 18-49 demo this season, going as low as a 0.3. However, the show has a large syndication and streaming deal and makes ABC a huge profit despite those low ratings for its initial airings. It's also critically acclaimed, earning numerous Emmy nominations, inclduing Outstanding Comedy and Best Comedy Actor and Actress for Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross. Marcus Scribner, Marsai Martin, Miles Brown and Jenifer Lewis  make up the remaining members of the principal cast, with Laurence Fishburne featured in a prominent recurring role. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
