This Is Us to End with Season 6

One of TV's highest-rated dramas is setting its end date. This Is Us, a veteran part of NBC's lineup, will end its much-buzzed-about run with its upcoming sixth season. This has been rumored for many years, and its three-season renewal in 2019 seemed to confirm those rumors. It was always creator Dan Fogelman's plan for the series to run for only six season, and the show, which takes place in multiple timelines, has been setting up its endgame since the start of its run. This Is Us spent three seasons as the #1 drama on broadcast television and while it lost that title this season (to 9-1-1 and Grey's Anatomy), it remains bot NBC's #1 drama and TV's #3 drama. It's held the Tuesday 9 PM slot on NBC since its inception, and will leave a hole on a night that NBC has recently made attempts to reform. In additon to its big ratings, the show is also one of the most acclaimed broadcast series, with star Sterling K. Brown and former star Ron Cephas Jones winning Emmys for their roles, the show receiving three Emmy nods for Best Drama, and stars Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Chrissy Metz and Chris Sullivan all picking up Emmy nominations. Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson, Jon Huertas, Griffin Dunne, and Caitlin Thompson also star in the series.
