"The Battle of the Rig"

INT. THE RIG - NIGHT
In the dining room, an alarm begins ringing. A soldier enters the dining room.
Richards stands up.
RICHARDS
What’s going on?
SOLDIER
Pirates ma’am.
RICHARDS
They finally gathered up the nerve. Excuse me folks, I must handle this. Soldier, escort Mr. Heston and Doctor Farroway to their quarters.
HENDRICKS
I can help.
Richards nods yes. She, Ulysses, and Hendricks exit the dining room. Frank and Ava follow the soldier.
EXT. THE RIG - NIGHT
The pirates have reached the Rig and are shooting at the Rig and the surrounding ships with heavy artillery. One of the pirate boats has a rocket launcher and shoots a rocket at a battleship. The ship explodes and begins to sink.
Dion, RJ, and other soldiers return fire.
DION
Where the fuck did they get this artillery?
RJ
They’re pirates, where do think they get them?
Dion, RJ, and the soldiers continue to return fire. The pirates are taking out the battleships.
INT. THE RIG - NIGHT
Richards, Hendricks, and Ulysses enter the command center.
RICHARDS
Report.

SOLDIER
Around seven pirate crafts surrounding us. Our fleet has been badly damaged.
ULYSSES
How?
RICHARDS
They’ve been preparing.
HENDRICKS
Does the Rig have any sort of heavy artillery?
ULYSSES
Four cannons. One on each side.
HENDRICKS
That should hold them off.
There is a loud BANG and the walls of the command center break. The shockwave of the blast sends everyone to the floor.
ULYSSES
Is everyone ok?
HENDRICKS
Yeah.
RICHARDS
Yes.
Ulysses helps Hendricks up.
ULYSSES
You and I better go above and help.
Hendricks nods and the two exit the command center.
Frank and Ava walk behind the soldier down the halls of the Rig. They stumble as the Rig is hit with artillery. As they turn a corner, there is an explosion and the three are knocked down. Frank sits up and looks around. The soldier is dead. His body is covered in shrapnel.
FRANK
Ava-
AVA
I’m fine.

Ava crawls over to the soldier and checks his neck for a pulse.
AVA
He’s gone.
The Rig shakes. Frank grabs the soldier's pistol.
FRANK
Come on.
EXT. THE RIG - NIGHT
The pirates begin boarding the Rig. The Rig soldiers shoot at them. The pirates make it over the railing and the pirates and soldiers start fighting hand to hand. They stab and shoot each other. Dion is shooting pirates with a pistol. RJ is killing pirates with a knife. Hendricks and Ulysses enter onto the decks with their pistols out. They immediately start shooting at pirates.
The battle rages on. Each side suffering heavy losses. There is less gunfire.
INT. THE RIG - NIGHT
The pirates have made it below deck killing anyone in their way. Frank and Ava turn a corner and come face to face with Hiram. Frank raises his pistol but Hiram knocks it out of his hand with his machete. Hiram swings his machete at Frank who steps back to dodge it. Ava stands behind Frank from a distance. A pirate comes behind her and grabs her. She starts screaming. Frank turns and sees what is happening to Ava.
FRANK
Ava!
Hiram swings his machete and catches Frank in the face. Frank’s face is covered in blood. Hiram walks over Frank and helps the other pirate with Ava. The two pirates drag her into a room and throw her on a bed. Hiram undoes his belt and smiles. The other pirate holds Ava down. In the hallway, Frank regains consciousness. He is injured. His face covered in blood. He is dazed. He stands up with difficulty. He sees an axe in an emergency glass case. He breaks the glass and grabs the axe.
Hiram gets on top of Ava. The other pirate is holding Ava down. Frank appears behind the other pirate and swings the axe hitting the pirate in the head killing him. Hiram pulls out his gun and points it at Frank. Ava grabs Hiram’s machete from its sheath. She swings and cuts Hiram’s genitals.
Hiram screams in pain and drops his gun. He stumbles back placing his hands on the severed stump of his manhood. Ava thrusts the machete into Hiram's chest and kills him. The body of Hiram falls to the ground. Ava turns to face Frank. The two tighten their grip on their weapons. Looks of rage and determination flash across their face. A fire has been ignited.

Frank and Ava exit the room. There are more pirates in the hallway. Frank and Ava charge at them and swing their weapons killing pirate after pirate.
EXT. THE RIG - NIGHT
Blood and bodies paint the deck of the Rig. Pirates and soldier's still fight each other. Victor is engaged in hand to hand combat with Hendricks. Victor pulls out a knife and stabs Hencricks in the hand. Hendricks pulls the knife out and stabs Victor in the throat.
A bright spotlight shines upon the Rig. It is an apache helicopter. It shoots at the pirates mowing them down. The pirates retreat. Fewer in numbers. As they get away on their boats, the helicopter follows them and takes out many of their boats. Only two pirate boats escape.
The battle has ended. The soldiers tend to their wounded. RJ and Dion set up a defensive perimeter. Ulysses helps Hendricks with his hand. Frank and Ava appear on the deck. Ava runs and embraces Hendricks. Frank becomes more dazed. His vision becomes red and foggy. He collapses. Ulysses rushes over to him.
ULYSSES
Frank!
END.
