INT. GREEN ROOM - DAY

SUPER: PREVIOUSLY ON NETWORK...

Kasey then looks at Jesse.

KASEY
Ezra needs you.

JESSE
I get that.

Kasey sighs.

KASEY
Wanna drive me home?

Charlie then looks at Kasey in shock.

KASEY (CONT’D)
I just wanted to have a conversation.

CHARLIE
Okay, this is not happening.

BACK TO PRESENT EPISODE.

A notification comes through Kasey’s phone.

KASEY
On second thought, the critics’ presentation went without a hitch.

Ash then returns to the green room.

ASH
Thank you for waiting patiently. We did it without a hitch. Positive reception on all of our high performing shows.

LEAH
That’s great news, especially after consecutive seasons of controversy.

CHARLIE
Well, it’s the business.

KASEY/LEAH
The oldest!

Leah then sits back on the sofa.

Everyone else, except for Ash, leaves the green room.

LEAH
We definitely need a break after this.

ASH
Let’s hope nothing happens.

He then motions over to the sofa next to Leah and extends his arms toward Leah for a hug.

INT. BUSINESS HALLWAY - DAY

Meanwhile, Kasey and Jesse are walking together.

Kasey looks at Jesse.

KASEY
Look, I was rash when I decided to break up. I was wrong.

JESSE
I played some part in this too. I’m sorry.

KASEY
I need to ask you something. For the sake of our son, can you take me back?

JESSE
Take you back?

KASEY
Yes. So we can raise Ezra together.

JESSE
Let’s think about this for a moment.

Suddenly, Charlie enters the scene with a baseball bat.

JESSE (CONT'D)
Here comes Charlie again with a baseball bat.

CHARLIE
Here to stop the inevitable from happening.

With an annoyed look, Kasey turns towards Charlie.

KASEY
From getting back together? That’s not even your decision to make.

CHARLIE
Relax. I’m just here for emotional support. It’s not even wise for either of you to even be in a relationship right now.

JESSE
I think I can handle this.

CHARLIE
How?

KASEY
By being together for the sake of our son.

Charlie then motions Kasey and Jesse apart.

Charlie turns to Jesse.

CHARLIE
Jesse, did you give her a yes or no answer as far as getting back together?

JESSE
I did not.

CHARLIE
And do either of you necessarily need to get back together in order to coparent?

Kasey nudges closer.

KASEY
Of course we are. Right, Jesse?

JESSE
Actually we don’t necessarily need to get back together in order to coparent Ezra.

KASEY
But why? I thought we agreed to this.

JESSE
I didn’t even give a yes or no answer.

Angrily, Kasey turns towards Charlie.

KASEY
Maybe next time, stop interfering in a person’s personal relationship.

CHARLIE
You and Jesse did it all on your own. Last time I checked, you dumped him. You couldn’t even communicate with him.

KASEY
I had postpartum depression! I couldn’t talk to anyone.

JESSE
Funny, it seems like you were getting along just fine with the husband of an ex-girlfriend of mine.

KASEY
I never knew you had to stoop so low to even say that. We’re not getting back together, ever.

JESSE
I already made that decision for you. I wasn’t planning on getting back with you in the first place.

KASEY
Keep that up and you’re not seeing your son. How about that?

Charlie then raises her baseball bat.
On the next Network, everyone gets involved. Tensions are building up.
