Fox Pulls Flirty Dancing and Almost Family from Wednesday Schedule

Two of this season's biggest flops will soon be off of Fox's schedule. The network is pulling both parts of its current Wednesday lineup beginning January 22, per The Futon Critic. Both shows have been terrible performers for Fox, going as low as 0.3. By the time they will be pulled, both shows will have two episodes remaining.

Flirty Dancing premiered December 29, with a mediocre 1.0 after an NFL lead-in. It transferred to its regular Wednesday slot and hit a 0.4 in its timeslot premiere, and currently averages a 0.56. After finishing its Wednesday run on January 15, it will air its final two episodes on Saturday, January 25. Jenna Dewan hosts the series, which is based on the series from the UK.

Almost Family premiered in October 2019, airing behind The Masked Singer. It posted some of the worst retention of the entire season, premiering to a 0.7 and only going lower from there. It's become one of the biggest flops in recent memory, and has gone as low as a 0.26. The show stars Brittany Snow, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Emily Osment and Timothy Hutton. It will also air its final Wednesday episode on January 15 before taking over a month off and airing its final two episodes on February 22.

Repeats will replace the two shows, with encores of the first two episodes of 9-1-1: Lone Star airing on January 22 and repeats of 24 Hours To Hell and Back, Last Man Standing and Outmatched airing on January 29. The Masked Singer will then return alongside new show LEGO Masters on February 5.
