INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY

SUPER: PREVIOUSLY ON NETWORK…

The gang then gathers together on the conference table.

CHARLIE
Bar Exam looks good. 5666 looks great. But why is there a script for Writer’s Block when there’s already a show on Peafowl about the lives of writers and producers?

ASH
Surprise. That is the show I had on embargo.

CHARLIE
Are you serious?

MATT
What’s wrong, Charlie?

CHARLIE
As a writer, I take great offense to that show on the air on our network. I know it’s such a critical darling and all that other stuff, but it is based on the lives of two male writers. Believe me. I’ve watched the show.

ASH
Are they based on the writers of sitcoms, perchance?

CHARLIE
If you’re talking about Jack and Noah, possibly.

Kasey and Jesse both gasp.

Holly then walks into the conference room.

HOLLY
Ash, there is someone here to see you for a pitching thing.

ASH
Bring em in!

Mike then enters the scene as he steps into the conference room.

Everyone gasps.

BACK TO PRESENT EPISODE.

Mike holds a stack of papers in his hands, of what appears to be a script.

CHARLIE
What the hell? What’s the meaning of this?

MIKE
I’m here to talk about rumors of Writer’s Block moving to your network. I was sent here to test it out.

Charlie then gets up.

CHARLIE
Did we get any confirmation on this network from Peafowl?

Kasey hangs her head down.

Leah then takes out her phone as if to film the whole thing.

Ash attempts to snatch the cell away from Leah’s hands but to no avail.

MIKE
I just said I was sent here.

CHARLIE
By who?

MIKE
An executive.

CHARLIE
(angrily)
That is a lie. I would have gotten an email about this. This whole network would have gotten an email over this.

ASH
Don’t start, Charlie.

MIKE
Look, I don’t want to fight about this.

CHARLIE
We may just well do that.

Suddenly, Kasey then gets up.

KASEY
Charlie, why are you doing this to my future brother-in-law?

CHARLIE
Well, well, well. Someone has a family member on this conference table.

MIKE
Okay, what does marrying Kasey’s sister have anything to do with me pitching a potential fifth season of Writer’s Block in preparation of a move to RGO?

ASH
One show is already moving. Your rival show.

MIKE
What?

He jumps on the table.

MIKE (CONT'D)
But I’m the one with the critical acclaim.

Charlie nods.

CHARLIE
Best new show and then you fell off. Just like in other young adult centric shows.

Leah’s jaw drops to the floor.

Matt snickers.

Mike gets off of the table and storms out of the room.

CHARLIE (CONT’D)
Well, I guess that takes care of the move. Not something I would want on a network.

Ash takes notes.

INT. BUSINESS HALLWAY - DAY

Jack and Noah are walking towards the hallway.

Suddenly, a furious Mike runs past them.

Jack and Noah turn around.

JACK
Mike, what are you doing here?

MIKE
Shouldn’t you be sulking about your show getting canceled?

Noah’s jaw drops in shock.

NOAH
Shouldn’t you worry about yours?

MIKE
You win this time. But you won’t win the war.

Then, Jack takes a breath.

Mike then pulls a punch and Jack blocks it.

The room spins.

Noah tries to break up the fight.

Jesse watches from outside of the conference room.

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY

Kasey looks in the distance, horrified at what she has witnessed.

KASEY
What is going on here?

On the next Network, we have a change of pace.
