FADE IN:
INT. CAR - DAY
In Ed’s car, Jack and Noah, sitting in the back seat of the car, are holding copies of the script in their hands.
Ed is driving.
ED
It’s a big day for us. We’re going to pitch the pilot to ABC.
JACK
I’m actually nervous about this.
NOAH
Remember last season when we pitched a sitcom?
JACK
That didn’t exactly go well.
ED
This will be different.
EXT. NETWORK HEADQUARTERS - DAY
The car drives into the parking lot of the network headquarters. Think ABC.
Then, Jack, Noah, and Ed each exit the car.
They reach the door to network headquarters.
Ed opens the door.
INT. BUSINESS HALLWAY - DAY
Ed, Jack, and Noah walk through the hallway.
INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY
Ed, Jack, and Noah meet three network executives. Let’s call them EXECUTIVE #1, EXECUTIVE #2, and EXECUTIVE #3.
ED
Now, let me tell you the premise of our show. We have a family of five working at a technology store.
JACK
The daughters are also writers. They have ambitions to work in television.
NOAH
We’re going to hand you the specialized script here.
EXECUTIVE #1
Thank you for being well prepared for this. Most writers don’t even bring scripts.
Noah hands out the three copies of the script.
SUPER: AN HOUR LATER
After the executives deliberate on the script, they call Ed, Jack, and Noah back into the room.
EXECUTIVE #2
We want to order a pilot for this.
EXECUTIVE #3
This is very well-rounded and funny.
JACK
So when is the deadline on testing the pilot?
EXECUTIVE #1
Before May.
Jack and Noah look at each other.
They go outside the conference room.
INT. BUSINESS HALLWAY - DAY
Jack and Noah sigh.
JACK
That’s a relief.
NOAH
We’re not even out of the woods yet.
Jack and Noah then return to the conference room.
INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY
JACK
Okay, we’ll get the cast and crew together ASAP.
EXECUTIVE #3
Great to hear.
Jack and Noah nod.
In the next episode, we test the pilot.
