FADE IN:

EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING - DAY

A shabby apartment building sits in the middle of downtown Beverly Hills, California.

INT. APARTMENT BUILDING HALLWAY - DAY

Will knocks on the door to Mike’s apartment.

The door opens to reveal Mike with an expensive coat on.

WILL
Where did you get that?

MIKE
Now that the money is coming in, I have enough to splurge on new clothes.

WILL
What are you talking about?

MIKE
Let me show you.

INT. MIKE'S APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY

Mike and Will enter the living room.

Mike then points to his couch.

There’s a brand new iPhone, a brand new MacBook, and a new painting.

WILL
Rembrandt. Where did you get the money for this?

Mike puts his arm down.

MIKE
The painting? At an auction.

Will facepalms.

WILL
Good grief.

MIKE
With the success of Writer’s Block, I thought I needed to splurge a bit.

WILL
I saw the ratings. They look impressive, but are you sure about all of this?

Mike turns to look at Will with a confident smile.

MIKE
I may get a new sports car if the show gets bigger. And renewed.

Mike then sits down on the couch.

Will takes a deep breath and looks towards the ceiling.

Jill then enters the room.

JILL
Look at my brand new necklace!

Will turns to Jill.

Mike then stands up.

WILL
You too?

JILL
I thought Mike and I would team up and share the profits.

WILL
You guys together, together?

MIKE
Hey, it’s not even official!

Jill walks towards Mike.

She gently pats him on the shoulder.

JILL
It’s okay, honey. I’ll manage.

Will crosses his arms.

WILL
I’m not sure about all of this. Mark and I have not felt any different since the show got picked up to series, with the exception of Jack and Noah.

Jill then turns around towards Will and puts her hands on her hips.

JILL
Jack and Noah will be fine, but I haven’t spoken to either of them recently.

Mike scratches his head.

MIKE
Things have been icy among us since before they left. I wish I reacted better.

JILL
Why not talk to them?

MIKE
They probably wouldn’t be interested. But it’s nothing.

Jill then crosses her arms.

JILL
I hope you guys manage to get along even with rival shows.

Mike then nods.

On the episode, we have Ed, Will, and Noah finishing up the script.
