INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

SUPER: PREVIOUSLY ON WRITER’S BLOCK…

As we recall in the previous episode, Jack and Noah went to live with Ed in his townhouse.

They look at the finished product.

Ed then looks at the finished script.

Jack then follows.

JACK
This is well-rounded.

NOAH
Well done, guys!

ED
Teamwork! Now, I’m going to show you your rooms.

They all get up from their seats, one by one.

BACK TO PRESENT EPISODE.

SUPER: THE NEXT MORNING…

Jack, Ed, and Noah congregate back in the living room.

Ed’s eyebrows rise, as if a lightbulb entered the room.

ED
Let’s title this script Working as a Family.

Jack and Noah look at each other.

Then they turn towards Ed.

ED (CONT'D)
Now for the pitch.

Jack and Noah then sit on the couch.

EXT. TECHNOLOGY STORE - DAY

Picture this. A technology store in Bel Air.

There’s a family of five working together: a husband and wife, two daughters, and a son.

The oldest son is primed to take the business.

The daughters however, have other aspirations.

INT. TECHNOLOGY STORE COUNTER - DAY

Bored behind the counter, we have one of the daughters, Kasey, dazing away from the counter.

Another daughter, Jillian, or Jill for short, walks into the store with a miniskirt.

Kasey then turns towards Jill.

KASEY
What the hell are you wearing?

JILL
Party clothes.

From across the aisles, we have Zach witnessing the commotion.

ZACH
Jill, isn’t that out of uniform?

JILL
Relax, we’re a family business. Nothing ever happens to any of us.

Kasey rolls her eyes.

The patriarch, Brian, exits his office.

He gives a strict glare to Jill.

Then he heads over to the counter.

BRIAN
Kids, we may be getting some new customers soon.

KASEY
Dad, that’s awesome.

BRIAN
The point is that we all need to be courteous and professional.

Their mother, Jia, enters the store with takeout.

The bags of takeout were quickly given to Kasey.

Jia then crosses her arms.

JIA
Jillian! Have you no shame?

JILL
Come on, Mom, there’s a party tonight…

JIA
You’re not going. You need to get your grades up before you even think about partying.

KASEY
She works in the family business too, Mom.

JIA
I’ve not forgotten. Now go change.

Jill hangs her head down.

She exits to the bathroom as soon as Jia hands her a pair of pants.

END PITCH SEQUENCE

INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

Jack and Noah then turn their attention towards their script.

ED
What do you guys think?

JACK
Good thinking on the technology store.

On the next episode of Writer’s Block, the final pitch is in!
