ABC is finally giving a spinoff to one of daytime's most iconic talk shows, with the network ordering a daily primetime edition of The View. Entitled The View Primetime, the show has been in development for months, and was created as a way to bring live event programming to ABC, something ABC President Karey Burke has been pushing for since taking over the position. The panel has already been set, and will include stars of recent ABC series as well as celebrities that have been recently a part of high-profile projects. 2020 presidential candidate and online meme sensation Marianne Williamson will moderate the series. Appearing alongside Williamson will be prosecutor and The Fix
creator Marcia Clark, ABC President Karey Burke herself, Fresh Off the Boat's Constance Wu, Quantico star Priyanka Chopra Jonas, The Masked Singer's Ana Gasteyer, and Dancing With the Stars' Kate Flannery. American Housewife's Katy Mixon will appear as a weekly guest co-host on Fridays, and one of the chickens from Bless This Mess will appear as the show's official mascot. The series is set to premiere on April 31 at 7:60 PM, with guests Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin. Future spinoffs, including a Saturday and LAte Night edition, are already in development.
