Station 19 Renewed by ABC, 9-1-1: Lone Star Silently Renewed by FOX

ABC has renewed its fire-station drama and Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19 for a fourth season. The show is averaging a 1.02 Adults 18-49 Live+Same Day average through the first seven episodes of season three. This is steady with its entire season two average in a year where most shows are down. The move to 8pm and stronger tie-ins with Grey’s Anatomy likely contributed to this, though it is yet to be seen how the show will fare in the late spring when Daylight Saving Time has a greater negative effect on 8pm shows.

Additionally, FOX has silently renewed 9-1-1: Lone Star. While they have not put out an official announcement, viewers were told at the end of this week’s season finale that it will return with new episodes. Excluding the out-of-timeslot post-football premiere, the show is averaging a 0.99 in A18-49 L+SD, making it this season’s highest-rated new scripted show. Unlike Station 19, it is yet to air after the show it’s spun off from, making the rating even more impressive.
