On ABC, 'Once Upon a Time' (0.4) was down a tenth for its first episode of 2018. It simultaneously tied its series low. 'Agents of SHIELD' (0.5) and '20/20' (0.5) lost a tenth apiece.

CBS's 'MacGyver' (0.8) and 'Hawaii Five-0' (0.9) each inched down. At 10, 'Blue Bloods' (0.9) was steady with its last episode.

Fox had the 2-hour season premiere of 'MasterChef Junior' (0.9). It was significantly below last year's 1.3 opener. But, it aired on Thursdays last season instead of lower-viewed Fridays.

Amidst all the downticks, NBC's 'Blindspot' (0.7) and 'Taken' (0.5) each rose a tenth from their last outings. But, that didn't stop 'Dateline' (0.6) from losing a tenth at 10.

The CW had an encore of 'iZombie' (0.2) and an original 'Jane the Virgin' (0.2). The latter was down from its last episode.
