Station 19: The Grey's Anatomy spin-off's premiere wasn't all that strong, and ABC was most likely underwhelmed. However, it is likely still strong enough to get a renewal. 1.1 is not an impressive number out of a very compatible 1.9, but Station 19 had to compete against a two-hour Chicago Fire, and the fact that its half-hours in prelims went 1.3/1.2/1.1/1.1 indicates that Station 19 is likely to remain stable in future weeks. Also, would ABC cancel all of their new spring scripted shows in a year where they are debuting so many? Renewing only revivals wouldn't look that good, and so far Deception and For the People have failed, while The Crossing, Splitting Up Together, and Alex Inc. are all yet to premiere. Nothing's certain for Station 19, but it still looks like it's coming back.
Fresh Off the Boat: In preparation for Roseanne and Splitting Up Together to premiere next week, Fresh Off the Boat concluded its 19-episode fourth season this week. Since the show is very close to the amount of episodes necessary for syndication, it is very likely that, even if ABC wants to cancel the show, 20th Century FOX will work out a deal for the show to survive one season longer.
Speechless: After impressing for most of 2018 after unimpressive results in the fall of 2017, Speechless concluded its 18-episode second season with an episode that didn't look too good in the ratings, due to adjustments that made its lead-in and lead-out stronger, and the show itself weaker. Still, the rating likely isn't as bad as it looks. And, anyway, it's also just one week's rating. So, I still think that Speechless is likely to be renewed.
