Tuesday was an off night for some shows, and finale night for one. Fresh Off the Boat, ABC's long-running comedy, ended its fourth season last night with a nice ratings uptick, hitting a 1.0 for the first time since January. The other ABC comedies also had good nights with both The Middle and Blackish gaining two tenths from their latest episodes, with a 1.3 and 1.1, respectively. This will be the Middle's last-ever regularly-scheduled episode at 8 PM, moving to 8:30 in two weeks to make room for Roseanne, and it certainly had a strong 8 PM sendoff. ABC's night wasn't all good though, and newbie For the People had a rough drop, scoring just a 0.6 for its second episode. It's already in Kevin (Probably) territory, which is not a great place to be. The only other network with more than an hour of originals was NBC. Their night started well enough, though the Voice did see a two-tenth decline from last Tuesday. Things got less good at 9, when newbie Rise made its timeslot debut with a 1.1, down a tenth its premiere. That's not a promising start, especially when you consider the 1.2 for lead-out Chicago Med. Med is holding its own after a weak lead-in, which is great news for it. Fox's comedies again aired after repeats, this time with different results. The Mick ticked up at 9:30 and for the first time, it beat LA To Vegas, which was at 0.6. This is an unusual rating, but it may just be a fluke. We'll have to see next week. The CW's Black Lightning was at 0.5 behind a repeat of the Flash.
