Monday was the first head-to-head matchup between two highly-rated singing competitions: NBC's American Idol and ABC's The Voice. Between those two, The Voice easily won, though it didn't get out unscathed. NBC's hit singing competition series fell two tenths from last week. That was still more than enough to be the #1 Monday show. Behind it, Good Girls struggled some more, now retaining less than 50% of The Voice with a 1.1, going fractional in the second half-hour. There's no way to spin that: it ain't pretty. It also was destroyed by the Good Doctor in their second match-up. The Good Doctor returned from a week off to a 2018 high of 1.8. American Idol, which also drew a 1.8, clearly helped the show out after having the historically unhelpful The Bachelor as it lead-in. Fox's lineup continued to struggle, with The Resident ticking down to 0.8 and Lucifer holding at 0.7. CBS had a blend of repeats and originals, which produced identical 8-10 comedy ratings. The CW also held steady.
Finals Update: iZombie (+0.1) and The Voice (+0.1) adjusted up. Good Girls (-0.1) adjusted down.
