Below is a table of the audience demand multipliers for many of FOX’s shows from January 1 through January 30, per Parrot Analytics. A 1.0 audience demand multiplier means the show has the same demand in the United States as the average show, past and present. Shows not included in this table are yet to be reported by Parrot Analytics.
Show | U.S. Audience Demand Multiplier | Countries With Audience Demand Higher Than U.S. |
The Simpsons | 48.5 | 0 |
Bob’s Burgers | 26.9 | 0 |
Family Guy | 24.5 | 0 |
WWE Friday Night SmackDown | 23.1 | 0 |
Prodigal Son | 16.1 | 0 |
Hell’s Kitchen | 12.1 | 0 |
LA’s Finest | 15.7 | 0 |
Last Man Standing | 14.0 | 0 |
The Resident | 12.3 | 0 |
9-1-1 | 11.6 | 0 |
The Masked Singer | 10.6 | 0 |
9-1-1: Lone Star | 7.9 | 0 |
Cosmos: Possible Worlds | 7.2 | 4 |
Bless The Harts | 5.3 | 0 |
NeXt | 5.3 | 6 |
The Great North | 3.5 | 0 |
Filthy Rich | 2.1 | 2 |
Arguably the biggest takeaway from this table is how well The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, and Family Guy are doing. With all three pulling in huge multipliers, it’s no wonde FOX openly has said they would put a greater focus on developing animated shows. Time will tell if The Great North will come closer to them as it begins its weekly run. With The Great North already renewed, Bless The Harts is certainly looking iffy; it doesn’t have near the demand as many of FOX’s other shows. As for live-action comedies, Last Man Standing’s 14.0 multiplier happens to be the exact same as Superstore, another Thursday comedy in its final season.
Elsewhere, WWE Friday Night SmackDown is proving to be a staple for FOX, giving them a show with much demand to occupy their Friday nights. The first live-action scripted show comes in at #5, with Prodigal Son’s 16.1 multiplier. Combined with The Resident, FOX has a pair of dramas on Tuesday nights that provide mediocre Nielsen Live + Same Day ratings, but clearly still have a high audience demand.
Many may find it surprising that the pair of 9-1-1 shows aren’t higher. After all, they’re two of the highest-rated shows on television. 9-1-1: Lone Star’s multiplier is roughly 68% that of 9-1-1, a solid figure. With a multiplier of 11.6, 9-1-1 listed in 10th place on this table says a lot about FOX’s audience demand strength overall.
On the reality front, Hell’s Kitchen having more demand than The Masked Singer is practically solely due to the former currently airing on a weekly basis, and the latter not having aired for over a month. The Masked Singer will certainly rise when it returns, though it’s unlikely to take the #1 spot away from The Simpsons.
