Mr. Mayor: Last week, after a few weeks rating at 0.5, Mr. Mayor rose to a rounded 0.6 rating. While that's still not a huge number, it still made it one of the higher-rated comedies on TV last week, and it's doing quite well by NBC comedy standards. I was expecting the show to flop, and when it ended up doing decently on premiere night, I was afraid it would collapse. It still has time to do that, but as of now, it's holding up well. With NBC favorite Tina Fey behind the show and a mighty streaming deal already made for it, it seems quite unrealistic to expect this show to go anywhere this season. Its LIKELY RENEWAL prediction will stick.
Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist: This week, Zoey's Playlist took a hit in the ratings and drew its smallest demo rating yet with a 0.41. That, however, is still higher than the fifth episode of season one, and is only one hundredth below the season one average, so it's not reason for alarm or any downgrade today in the renew/cancel. NBC also announced earlier today that the show would be returning for the second half of season two in early March, in a new Sunday timeslot. This is much better news for it than if it was being held until summer to return, giving me another sign that NBC is planning to stick with it. On top of that, star Jane Levy received a Golden Globe nomination this week for the show. Networks don't get award nominations very often, so NBC surely appreciated that recognition. All of this is to say: it's still a favorite for renewal, and it remains in the LEANS RENEWAL category.
