With a turnaround time that manages to make Quibi look like a success, CNN has announced that their just-launched streaming service CNN+ will become defunct in a little over a week. Its final day of operations will be April 30th. CNN+ was the latest in a line of new streaming services to fall under the Warner Bros. Discovery banner, and was controversial from its launch, with many questioning why the service even existed at all. The controversy continued in the months following its launch, with reports of low subscription counts and criticism for the limited amounts of programming on the service. The service's original programs, including programs from journalists Anderson Cooper, Chris Wallace, Wolf Blitzer and Jake Tapper, as well as programs from NBA star Rex Chapman and actress Eva Longoria, have not been officially canceled despite the service shutting down, with decisions on the fate of those shows coming later.
