Sunday TV Ratings 4/24/22: The Rookie Slightly Up for Spinoff Backdoor Pilot, American Idol Leads, NCIS: Los Angeles and The Equalizer Down (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Leading out of a strong rerun of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.51), ABC programs 'American Idol' (0.79, +0.09) and 'The Rookie' (0.37, +0.02) both rose when compared to their week-ago episodes. '60 Minutes' (0.57, +0.02) and 'SWAT' (0.51, +0.03) perked up on CBS as 'The Equalizer' (0.51, -0.05) and 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.49, -0.08) both slipped. NBC's rerun of 'American Song Contest' (0.14) picked up a hundredth, 'Weakest Link' (0.25) held steady, and 'Transplant' (0.22, +0.09) nearly grew by a full tenth. On Fox, 'The Simpsons' (0.30, +0.01) inched up, but 'The Great North' (0.23, -0.02) and 'Bob's Burgers' (0.29, -0.02) lost two-hundredths apiece. Repeats of 'Simpsons' (0.29), 'Bob's' (0.22), and 'Family Guy' (0.29) surrounded the originals. The CW's 'Riverdale' (0.05, -0.01) shed a single hundredth and led into encores of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.05) and 'Would I Lie to You?' (0.04).
