Mr. Mayor: Of all of the shows on NBC this year, this one has been the most confusing for me. Before the season began, I was relatively convinced that this would be the show's final season. It isn't the critical darling that NBC probably was hoping for given its pedigree, and it was being demoted to 8:30 in spring after a winter run at 8 last season. However, while the ratings are pretty dreadful, I don't think this show is any weaker than the higher-rated 8 PM anchors Young Rock and American Auto, both of which look quite likely to return. This week, it rated just three hundredths behind Young Rock despite a worse timeslot. Given NBC's history of favoritism towards shows from creators it likes, it's hard for me to predict a cancellation for a show that's barely doing any worse than a show I highly expect to see renewed. While NBC arguably should scrap its entire comedy department, as all of its comedies are utter flops (at least on NBC), I don't expect them to do that. While Mr. Mayor's cancellation would be justified, I don't expect it to happen, at least not this season. It LEANS RENEWAL.

What do you think of my predictions? What are your predictions? Let me know in the comments and vote in the poll of the week!
