The fight is over for Batwoman. The CW comic book series has been axed after only three seasons, making it the shortest-running of The CW's "ArrowVerse" franchise, a franchise that has more-or-less defined The CW for the better part of a decade. The show didn't rate notably lower than the rest of the CW's lineup, with a 0.09 18-49 season average that placed it smack in the middle of the pack on the lowest-rated Big Five network. However, production costs and the impending sale of The CW seem to have led to an early exit for the show. The show underwent a major casting change over its run, with original star Ruby Rose exiting the show after a single season of playing the titular hero, being replaced by Javicia Leslie for the remaining two seasons. Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang and Robin Givens also starred in the series.
