CBS had the only original of the night with Undercover Boss (1.1), it managed to beat out its last result by a tenth and tie for the number one program of the night. Afterward, CBS had encores of MacGyver (0.7) and Criminal Minds (0.7).
ABC had repeats of their comedy line-up with The Goldbergs (1.1), Speechless (0.9), Modern Family (1.1), and Black-ish (1.0). All four did exceptionally well with The Goldbergs and Black-ish actually up from their repeat results last year. At 10, the network repeated an episode of Match Game (0.8) and it posted a strong result beating out a summer original and not far off from its 0.9 season finale.
NBC served up repeats of Law and Order: SVU (0.8/1.0) and Chicago PD (0.9) which both had strong results.
Fourth-Place Fox stayed true to its name with a Foster Farms Bowl Pregame (0.5) and the actual game (0.7). Neither stirred up much interest and trailed the ABC and NBC repeats.
The CW had drama repeats with Arrow (0.3) and Supergirl (0.3).
