NBC easily won Christmas night with NFL Football: Broncos at Chiefs (5.9) obliterating every other program of the night, though most were repeats, Football Night and America (2.8) and the Pregame (4.6) also posted strong results leading into the game.

ABC slid into a distant second starting with an NBA Overrun (1.1) leading into a presentation of Beauty and the Beast (1.2) which easily beat out any non-football programs of the night and actually bested every result from Quantico and Secretes & Lies and 9 out of the 10 episodes of Once Upon a Time, so it's clear that ABC fans love their Disney movies. The Beauty and the Beast audience did not stick around for comedy repeats as Speechless (0.6) shed half of its lead-in but at least Black-ish (0.5) didn't fall much further. Nevertheless, both repeats beat out most of the CBS and FOX ones.

CBS foolishly aired an original 60 Minutes (0.6) which easily collapsed to a new low leading into a repeat of the I Love Lucy Christmas Special (0.5) which performed passably enough but more repeats of The Dick Van Dyke Show (0.3) and MacGyver had microscopic results.

FOX had repeats of their comedies with Bob's Burgers (0.3/0.4), The Simpsons (0.5), Son of Zorn (0.3), Family Guy, and The Last Man on Earth (0.4). Nothing did especially well but the anchors did put up decent results and Zorn completely tanked. The animated trio and Zorn will return on January 8 while Last Man won't return until March,
