Sunday TV Ratings 3/24/24: Tracker Hits Series High, March Madness Rises Again, American Idol Hits All-Time Low (Final Ratings w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: March Madness basketball (2.01) improved some more and broke the 2.0 barrier for the first time this year. That boost helped push CBS's 60 Minutes (0.75, +0.08) above last week's episode and catapulted Tracker (0.54, +0.07) to its highest rating outside of the Super Bowl-charged premiere. CSI: Vegas (0.33, +0.02) also grew but not nearly as much as the others. The news was a lot more bleak on ABC as American Idol (0.38, -0.12) crashed to an all-time low. America's Funniest Home Videos (0.41, -0.07) and What Would You Do? (0.23, -0.04) also took a hit. On Fox, The Simpsons (0.17, -0.04) dropped to a new series low and took Krapopolis (0.13, -0.02) down with it. The Great North (0.12, -0.01) and Grimsburg (0.11, -0.02) slipped a bit in the 9 p.m. hour. NBC had an assortment of reruns (0.15/0.14/0.15), while The CW aired the 1984 Ghostbusters (0.09) and The Conners (0.04).
