After announcing Young Sheldon would come to an end with its seventh season, CBS has ordered a new spinoff to series. The spinoff will be a multi-cam starring Sheldon’s older brother and sister-in-law, Georgie and Mandy. The sequel series will follow the couple as they raise a family. It does not have a title.
This spinoff continues Chuck Lorre’s tenure at CBS. He has had at least one sitcom on the network in every season since Two and a Half Men premiered in 2003, and oftentimes more. It’s been 40 years since his first writing credit at CBS, which was in 1984’s Pole Position. Lorre’s future at the network was called in question when it was announced both Young Sheldon and Bob Hearts Abishola would not return past their current seasons.
