Thursday TV Ratings 12/24/20: It’s a Wonderful Life Easily Leads NBC to Victory on a Silent Christmas Eve Night (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: On a noiseless Christmas Eve night, NBC took the lead with their annual broadcast of the classic 1946 film 'It's a Wonderful Life' (0.7). ABC's presentation of 'The Greatest Showman' (0.4) couldn't quite compete but was still the second-strongest telecast of the evening. The Hugh Jackman movie was followed by a pair of 'Prep & Landing' specials (0.3/0.3). CBS had repeats of 'Young Sheldon' (0.3), 'B Positive' (0.3), 'Mom' (0.2), 'The Unicorn' (0.2), and 'FBI' (0.3). Those were a good bit above Fox's 'The Resident' (0.2) and 'Prodigal Son' (0.1) encores. The CW aired repeats of 'iHeartRadio Jingle Ball' (0.1) and 'Whose Line' (0.1).

Finals Update: 'It's a Wonderful Life' (+0.1), 'The Greatest Showman' (+0.1), and repeats of 'Mom' (+0.1) and 'Young Sheldon' (+0.1) adjusted up.
