EXT. APARTMENT COMPLEX - DAY
Edison is getting the mail. He sifts through each letter and stops and stares at one. He opens it and begins reading it. His eyes grow wide.
EDISON
Oh shit.
He begins running towards the apartment.
Andrew and Megan are watching TV on the couch. Edison bursts into the apartment panting.
EDISON
Guys, we have a serious problem.
ANDREW
What?
MEGAN
Did you run here?
EDISON
We’re getting evicted.
Andrew and Megan sit up.
ANDREW
What? Why? Mr. Amari loves us.
EDISON
I don’t know, the letter just says the apartment is under new management and that we’re being evicted.
MEGAN
Let me see that.
Edison hands the letter to Megan and she reads it.
MEGAN
He’s right.
ANDREW
We need to talk to Mr. Amari.
INT. MR. AMARI’S OFFICE - DAY
The three stand in front of Mr. Amari’s desk, which has boxes full of his things.
MR. AMARI
I’m sorry. I’m no longer in control.
MEGAN
Why did you sell the complex?
MR. AMARI
I got a good deal. I can finally retire.
MEGAN
Who’d you sell to?
MR. AMARI
Scarlet Brown Properties. They made me a good offer.
MEGAN
That name sounds familiar.
MR. AMARI
She's a realtor. Been buying up the properties in town.
ANDREW
WHY are we being evicted?
MR. AMARI
I don’t know.
EDISON
Oh c’mon of course you know. Please tell us. Haven't we been good tenants.
Mr. Amari sighs.
MR. AMARI
Okay fine. I heard it was because of “Dat Party Tho”.
ANDREW & EDISON & MEGAN
What?
MR. AMARI
Apprenty they think that your parties are a liability.
Apparently someone jumped off the balcony and broke their leg.
Andrew and Megan glare at Edison who does his best to avoid their gaze.
ANDREW
Surely you can do something about this.
MR. AMARI
Like I said, I’m not in control. If you want to stay, you have to talk to them.
EXT. APARTMENT COMPLEX - DAY
Andrew, Edison, and Megan walk on the apartment sidewalk.
ANDREW
So what now. Do we find a place?
MEGAN
Might as well. Damn it.
ANDREW
What?
MEGAN
Scarlet Brown. That name seems familiar but I can’t remember why.
ANDREW
Well, I’ll start looking for any apartment postings.
Edison stops walking.
Edison? No.
No what?
ANDREW EDISON MEGAN
EDISON
We are not getting kicked out of that apartment.
ANDREW
Edison-
EDISON
We’ve had too many good memories there. It was where we became friends with Megan. It’s where you and Sarah had your first kiss. The awkward one when you were still dating Gabby.
ANDREW
Yes, I remember.
EDISON
So, we can’t just give it up. That’s our home away from home and I won’t let some real estate mogul take it from me.
MEGAN
What are we supposed to do?
EDISON
We take the fight to them.
Andrew and Megan look at each other and then back at Edison.
ANDREW
Okay. Let’s do it.
INT. SCARLET BROWN PROPERTIES - DAY
The trio enters the leasing office. It's fancy and grand. You wouldn't think it was a leasing office. Sitting at the receptionist desk is Samantha.
MEGAN
Oh you gotta be kidding me. Now I know why the name seemed familiar.
SAMANTHA
Megan?
MEGAN
(Coldly)
Samantha. You work here?
SAMANTHA
Yes. Why are you three here?
EDISON
Your boss is evicting us because of our parties and we want to talk to her.
SAMANTHA
She’s out right now but I can make an appointment.
Edison leans against the front desk.
EDISON
You're the receptionist right?
SAMANTHA
Um, yes.
EDISON
Soooooo, that means you're kind of close to the boss?
SAMANTHA
Yeah.
EDISON
So maybe you could talk to her. Put in a good word for us.
SAMANTHA
Sorry, I can’t do that.
EDISON
Excuse me for a moment. Edison rejoins Andrew and Megan.
EDISON
Okay, Megan, you need to seduce her.
MEGAN
I’m sorry what?
EDISON
Look, if we want to keep our apartment, we need Samantha to vouch for us with her boss.
MEGAN
Edison, I’m not going to seduce her.
Why not?
EDISON
MEGAN
She dumped me over a phone call.
EDISON
Well, Andrew and I can’t seduce her. We have penises. Or is it peni? Andrew?
ANDREW
Not now Edison. Look Megan, you don’t have to seduce her but you should talk to her.
MEGAN
(Sigh)
Fine. For “Dat Party Tho”.
Megan approaches Samantha. Samantha sits a little straighter and offers a warm welcoming smile.
SAMANTHA
Hey Megan.
MEGAN
Samantha.
Megan looks over at Edison and Andrew. Edison gives her a thumbs up.
MEGAN
Are you sure you can’t say anything to your boss.
SAMANTHA
I don’t know.
MEGAN
Oh c’mon, we’re good tenants. So what if we throw a few dangerous parties. Actually they aren’t that dangerous. The only bad things that have happened other than Edison jumping off the balcony was Andrew taking ecstasy.
SAMANTHA
Ecstasy?
EDISON
You’re supposed to be putting us in a good light.
MEGAN
Right. Look Samantha, I think you owe me after what you did.
SAMANTHA
Your right, I do. Okay, I’ll talk to her. But no promises.
MEGAN
Great, Thank you.
SAMANTHA
Would you like to grab a drink la-
MEGAN
Nope, I hope to never see you again.
Megan turns around and walks out the building followed by Andrew and Edison.
INT. APARTMENT - DAY
Andrew and Edison sit on the couch. Megan exits her room with her phone.
MEGAN
Well, Samantha talked to her boss. We can keep the apartment.
Andrew and Edison high five each other.
MEGAN
On one condition. We agree not to throw any more parties.
EDISON
What!
ANDREW
Hey, at least we get to keep the apartment.
EDISON
Yeah but what about-
ANDREW
I think it’s time to say goodbye to “Dat Party Tho”.
EDISON
Okay fine.
ANDREW
Tell you what, how about we get some pizzas. One last “Dat party tho”. Just the three of us. What do you say?
EDISON
Okay.
ANDREW
Great, Megan and I will go get the food. You set the table.
Andrew and Megan leave. Some time later.
Edison watches TV on the couch.
There is a knock on the door. Edison gets up and walks over to the door
EDISON
I swear if you got pineapple as a topping Andrew I’ll-
Edison opens the door. Standing outside, is Brittaney.
BRITTANEY
Hey Edison.
