Friday TV Ratings 12/4/20: Blue Bloods, Magnum PI and MacGyver All Premiere Down, Shark Tank Slips but Remains on Top (UPDATE)

Preliminary Analysis: CBS brought back its Friday drama lineup in fairly disappointing fashion with 'MacGyver' (0.5) and 'Blue Bloods' (0.5) both hitting new series lows out the gate. In the middle, 'Magnum PI' (0.5) tied its previous low and was only a tenth below its September 2019 start. 'MacGyver' was two-tenths below its previous premiere while 'Blue Bloods' came in a tenth short of the 0.6 A18-49 rating it garnered last fall. CBS's ineptness meant that ABC's 'Shark Tank' (0.6) once again coasted to a Friday night victory. The longtime staple inched down from its last episode while lead-out '20/20' (0.5) perked up. Fox's 'WWE Smackdown' (0.5) was also on the decline but still matched CBS's offerings. 'Dateline' (0.4) lost a tenth on NBC and led out of a repeat of 'The Voice' (0.3). The CW remained uncompetitive with a 'Hollywood Christmas Parade' (0.1).

Finals Update: All shows held their preliminary ratings.
