Grey's Anatomy: It's crazy to even imagine an ABC without Grey's Anatomy. It is, without a doubt, one of the most impactful shows in the history of the network. It's also easily their #1 scripted show and the #2 scripted show on TV overall, meaning that its impact is more than just as a long-running show. It remains a powerhouse, and isn't showing any signs of slowing down. However, ABC may soon need to imagine a world without it. The show is old, now in its seventeenth season, and all shows must end eventually. Sure, SVU is going to last for at least twenty-four seasons, and NCIS is in its eighteenth season, but neither of those shows have stars that have repeatedly hinted at departing the show. I discussed this earlier in the season and dismissed that it would end this season, but I'm not so sure now. Recently, star Debbie Allen stated on Andy Cohen's show that Grey's was initially going to end this season. She later said " I think it can keep going." I could dismiss that, as it is just one cast member saying tht, but his isn't the only insistance in which endig the show has been discussed, as Ellen Pompeo hinted at it as well earlier this year. The show has also seen multiple high-profile cast returns this season, potentially the show bringing back its biggest stars ahead of its series finale. It's probably still going to come back, and ABC will certainly fight to make sure that happens, but I'm not 100% sold on it. It's a LIKELY RENEWAL now.

Big Sky: Last week was another impressive showing for Big Sky. As The Bachelorette shed another tenth, Big Sky held steady once again. The show has looked more impressive with each week after a debut that can only be described as "middling." It also was extended from ten episodes to sixteen, a big extension for a show that seemed destined for a limited run. ABC is clearly high on the show, and the fact that David E. Kelley is behnd it certainly can't hurt. However, I don't want to upgrade it before I see its performance in January. It continues to LEAN RENEWAL until I see its ratings behind a weak lead-in.
