Sunday TV Ratings 4/14/24: Billy Joel Special Solid on CBS, The Great North Rises for Double Episode, American Idol Also Ticks Up (Final Ratings w/Analysis)


Ratings Analysis: Billy Joel: The 100th (0.47) provided CBS with a strong rating and retained more than 80% of its Tracker lead-in (0.56, +0.02). Earlier in the night, The Masters (1.78) boosted 60 Minutes (0.86, +0.50) in a significant way, with the newsmagazine staple growing by five-tenths. On Fox, The Great North (0.17, +0.03) occupied the 8:30-9:30 p.m. stretch and was up from last week, even though it still had a lower average than the Simpsons rerun (0.18) that led into the 8:30 episode. Grimsburg (0.12, +0.02) was also on the rise. ABC's American Idol (0.48, +0.03) bested last Sunday's installment. NBC aired more repeats of Weakest Link (0.14), The Voice (0.12), and Dateline (0.12). The CW doubled last week's 13 Going on 30 rating (0.04) with 10 Things I Hate About You (0.08).
