Sunday TV Ratings 4/7/24: CMT Awards Slightly Down from 2023, American Idol Drops Again, The Simpsons Rises (Final Ratings w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: CBS's broadcast of the 2024 CMT Music Awards (0.68) topped the night in the Adults 18-49 demographic and was only down by two-hundredths from the 2023 ceremony (0.70). Earlier in the night, 60 Minutes (0.36, -1.05) did not have a large sports lead-in to lift it up, so it crashed back down to normal levels. America's Funniest Home Videos (0.58, +0.12) shot up on ABC, but the momentum stopped there as both American Idol (0.45, -0.10) and What Would You Do? (0.18, -0.08) collapsed. Fox was up with The Simpsons (0.20, +0.03), Krapopolis (0.15, +0.02), and The Great North (0.14, +0.02), but Grimsburg (0.10, -0.01) lost a hundredth. NBC aired repeats of Weakest Link (0.21), The Voice (0.15), and Dateline (0.16). The CW went with comedy film 13 Going on 30 (0.04).
