CBS continues to secure its programming for next season, this time renewing the Queen Latifah-led procedural The Equalizer for a fifth season. The series, a reboot of the 1985 Ed Woodward series of the same name, has been a solid performer for CBS since its debut behind Super Bowl LV in 2021. This season, the series averaged 0.47 in the key 18-49 demo, being slightly overshadowed by its lead-out, Tracker. Despite that, it has consistently rated as one of the top programs on Sunday nights and is CBS's #5 scripted show this season, only rating behind Thursday comedies Young Sheldon and Ghosts, FBI, and the aforementioned Tracker. The fifth season will run for eighteen episodes, steady with its second and third seasons. Lorraine Toussaint, Liza Lapira, Tory Kittles, Adam Goldberg and Laya DeLeon Hayes star alongside Queen Latifah. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide, and leaves NCIS: Hawai'i as CBS's only show with its fate still in limbo.
