Law & Order True Crime: United States of America v. Donald J. Trump To Air On NBC Ahead of 2024 Election

Despite lackluster ratings in 2017, NBC is bringing back Law & Order True Crime for a second installment. This time, they’re honing in on someone who has a proven track record with ratings success: former president of the United States Donald Trump. The series, Law & Order True Crime: United States of America v. Donald J. Trump, will be based off the real-life case. Said case, which was originally scheduled for March 2024, is set to focus on Donald Trump’s role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election results as well as in the related events that unfolded on January 6, 2021. As the case date has been pushed back, Law & Order True Crime: United States of America v. Donald J. Trump will be scripted based on how the writers envision the case.

Law & Order True Crime: United States of America v. Donald J. Trump is a miniseries with a 6-episode order. It will premiere in late September, with its finale airing the week before Election Day. The news is likely to draw ire from conservatives and praise from liberals. While full casting has yet to be announced, we know that Alec Baldwin will be reprising his role as Donald Trump from Saturday Night Live. There is speculation, but not confirmation, that Liz Cheney will be making her acting debut on the series.
