Elsbeth Renewed by CBS

CBS continues to lock down their programming for next season. This time, they have renewed their latest show, police procedural Elsbeth, for a second season. The show, starring Carrie Preston reprising her Emmy-winning role from The Good Wife, premiered February 29 before taking a one-month break. Despite that, it has performed well enough for CBS, averaging 0.30 in the key 18-49 demo and drawing over ten million viewers in multiplatform viewing. The series is the latest collaboration between CBS and married creatives Robert and Michelle King, who also created the aforementioned Good Wife and its first spinoff, The Good Fight, as well as CBS-turned-Paramount+ drama Evil. Elsbeth was one of only two new scripted originals on CBS this season, the other being the breakout hit Tracker, as the WGA and SAG strikes impacted scripted content on all of TV in the first half of the season. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
