Paramount Plus Renew/Cancel: The Good Fight Renewed for Season Six

Below is a table of audience demand multipliers as reported by Parrot Analytics for Paramount Plus’ original series, Viacom’s streaming service. A 1.0 multiplier is the average for all shows past and present, and is updated on a rolling 30-day basis. The numbers seen in this table are as reported on July 20, 2021. The Good Fight
As predicted, The Good Fight has been renewed for a sixth season. It is hardly a surprise given Viacom already renewed their development deal with the show’s creators, who are also behind the recently-renewed Evil. If it gets one more renewal, it will end up at the same seven season count as The Good Wife did, albeit with less episodes.

The revival of iCarly was also recently renewed, as predicted. What was not predicted is just how well it would end up doing. iCarly’s audience demand is on par with what some Star Trek series would do in their prime. It appears former kids have followed through with watching a more mature version of the show they used to enjoy.

The revival of fellow former Nickelodeon show Rugrats, meanwhile, is certainly not out-performing iCarly. Once one of Nickelodeon’s flagship shows that launched its Nicktoons brand, Rugrats actually hasn’t seen all that much of an increase in audience demand from before the revival launched. This means just as much, if not more, of the demand for the show comes from reruns of the original show, whether that be on Paramount Plus or another platform. Granted, Paramount Plus has so far only released five episodes of the show, all premiering on the same day. This still does not excuse the fact that in the ‘Nickelodeon’ tab, the revival is behind the original as well as spinoff All Grown Up! (alongside countless other former Nicktoons). I still predict it will be renewed, but so far its performance seems to be more on par with my original prediction.

Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years
This spinoff of SpongeBob SquarePants had a strong showing for an episode on Nickelodeon, but is vastly performing the original series overall. Like with Rugrats, only a small batch of episodes have been released, but this one coincided with the launch of Paramount Plus and a new SpongeBob movie. I wouldn’t be surprised if Viacom reversed course and actually made it a Nickelodeon original in the future.

Why Women Kill
Unlike the other The Good Fight, Evil, and iCarly, Why Women Kill has not been renewed. While a little concerning, its audience demand is high and they could be waiting to see how the full season does before making an official decision and announcement.
