Disney+ Renew/Cancel: Loki Is A Giant International Hit, The Mighty Ducks Skating On Thin Ice

Below is a table of audience demand multipliers as reported by Parrot Analytics for Disney+’s original series. A 1.0 multiplier is the average for all shows past and present, and is updated on a rolling 30-day basis. The numbers seen in this table are as reported on July 8, 2021. Loki
Disney’s acquisition of Marvel is paying off once again with the success of Loki. Its 27.5 audience demand multiplier in the United States is one of the highest of all television shows, broadcast, cable, and streaming. The fact it’s only #3 on this chart shows just how strong Disney+’s original slate is. Loki has at least a 10.0 multiplier in an astounding 23 different countries. It might just be the most valuable show Disney+ has right now. Disney made a good decision to renew it for a second season ahead of its premiere.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers
Paling in comparison to High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers concluded its first season over a month ago with no news on if it will return for a second season or not. As is the case with streaming, its outlook gets less promising with each day that passes without a renewal announcement. Given it’s fully owned and Disney+ still only has eight scripted originals that are not miniseries, I’m predicting it has a solid chance to come back. That could change as time passes, though.

Monsters at Work
Monsters at Work just premiered, meaning its audience demand multiplier is likely (but not certain) to skyrocket over the course of the next few weeks. This is Disney+’s first-ever television adaptation of a Pixar property, and its performance likely will decide on the volume of Pixar-based shows Disney+ will make in the future. Outpacing Star Wars: The Bad Batch would be a major accomplishment.

Big Shot & The Mysterious Benedict Society
Big Shot either has an audience demand multiplier of less than 0.01, or its audience demand is not yet being measured or reported. I’m guessing the latter is the case and will hold off on making a prediction. It’s certainly not a good sign that the first season ended without a second season announcement, but that’s also not a de facto cancelation given it’s been less than a month. As for The Mysterious Benedict Society, the first season is still ongoing.
