Wednesday TV Ratings 7/14/21: NBA Finals Climb, Big Brother Slips, Love Island and MasterChef Steady (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: NBA ratings enjoyed a nice rebound as game 4 of the 'Finals' (2.5) rose by a whopping seven-tenths from the preliminary rating of game 3 (1.8). An upward adjustment in finals should definitely take this into the mid-to-high 3s. 'Jimmy Kimmel Live! Game Night' (1.3) and 'NBA Countdown' (1.3) enjoyed a modest uptick alongside the main event. Over on CBS, 'Big Brother' (0.8) dropped close to three-tenths from its week-ago start. 'Love Island' posted its usual 0.3 rating at 9 and led into a rerun of 'SWAT' (0.2). 'MasterChef' (0.6) and 'Crime Scene Kitchen' (0.4) were roughly even on the Fox network. NBC had repeats of 'Chicago Med' (0.3), 'Fire' (0.2), and 'PD' (0.3). 'Kung Fu' (0.1) and 'In the Dark' (0.1) remained unchanged on the CW.

Finals Update: NBA Finals Game 4 (+1.0) and the repeat of Chicago Fire (+0.1) adjusted up. Jimmy Kimmel Live! Game Night (-0.7) and NBA Countdown (-0.3) adjusted down.
