’Diary of a Future President’ Renewed For Second Season By Disney+


Disney+ has confirmed that the series will be back for more episodes.

Streaming service Disney+ has renewed comedy web series Diary of a Future President for a second season. The first season of the program debuted on the platform on January 17, 2020 and concluded on March 20, 2020. Ten episodes total were produced for the show's inaugural run. The coming-to-age series focuses on 12-year old Cuban-American Elena Reed going through the plights of middle school. Jane the Virgin's Gina Rodriguez plays the adult Elena, a future president of the United States.

Tess Romero plays the titular character while Selenis Leyva, Charlie Bushnell, and Michael Weaver make up the rest of the main cast. Ilana Peña created Diary of a Future President while Gina Rodriguez also serves as an executive producer for the series. Per Deadline, David Stapf (the president of CBS Television Studios) expressed that he was thrilled to be working with Disney+ and being able to display the stories of strong women through the entertainment medium.
