AMC:
Dispatches from Elsewhere: In my last update, I highlighted the many reasons why this AMC anthology is such an underdog for renewal. Things have only gotten worse for it since then. Its ratings didn't improve even as Better Call Saul did, and its finale hit a 0.03 without the Saul lead-in. That's nearly as low as Lodge 49's low (0.02), and that show was canceled despite being an internal favorite at AMC. I find it hard to believe AMC will go through the trouble of ordering a second season of the show, which would need a new plot and potentially a new cast. It's a CERTAIN CANCELLATION.
FX:
What We Do In The Shadows: FX's vampire comedy is having a strong season ratings-wise, up 10% thus far even after hitting a season low last week. It rates higher than fellow FX comedies Better Things and Breeders, by comfortable margins. The show is also critically well-received, which FX values. If its performance last season was enough for a renewal, it'll be enough this season as well. It's a CERTAIN RENEWAL.
Breeders: This show was renewed recently, before its first season finished airing. I didn't see it as a lock, but I considered a renewal more likely than cancellation and this is a correct prediction
USA:
Briarpatch: In the last update, I said that this show was more likely canceled than not, but I didn't think it was entirely dead. Now I think it's probably a goner. It ended up averaging a rounded 0.1, even though it aired eight episodes behind the best lead-in USA has to offer. If other shows weren't able to cut it with that, I doubt this one will. It's a LIKELY CANCELLATION.
Dare Me: Despite an international Netflix deal and acceptable enough ratings that led me to predict a renewal, USA axed this show after a single season. It wasn't a huge shock, but it was still a miss.
