ABC's signature comedy set in 1980-something will return for an eighth season, with the renewal of The Goldbergs being announced today. The show has remained a solid performer for ABC throughout its run, even with its recent large year-to-year ratings declines. It has led the Wednesday night sitcom block on the network since The Middle exited the lineup in 2016, spawning a spinoff last season. Averaging 0.87 for season seven, The Goldbergs is the #3 sitcom on ABC this season. Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin, Sean Giambrone, Troy Gentile, Hayley Orrantia and George Segal star in the series.
